The work of the Charutar Arogya Mandal would not have been possible
without the generous contributions of individuals and institutions.
This generosity has not only financed our efforts, it has inspired
us to expand and extend our service to the community while seeking
to achieve and sustain excellence in all we do. All the facilities
that the Mandal has created - whether for education or medical care
have reflected our community's contribution and our solemn commitment
to meet its expectations.
We are proud of what we have achieved. But we cannot rest as much
remains to be done. Medical science is a rapidly advancing field.
If we are to remain true to our mission of providing our community
with the best health care, we must keep pace with the advances in
medical science.
Each year the Hospital provides free and concessional treatment
to poorer patients at a cost of Rs. 100 lakhs (US$ 210,000). The
annual operating deficit is almost Rs. 150 lakhs (US$ 315,000).
Together these place a great financial burden on the Mandal.
Each year the Medical College and other Mandal educational institutions
receive applications from students with great ability and potentially,
but without the finances for their education. While all these institutions
do their best to admit and support these students much more can
and should be done to equip such fine young men and women with the
education their talents deserve.
The Mandal's educational institutions face an ongoing need to acquire
new facilities and equipment, not only to meet regulatory body requirements
but also to provide the finest possible teaching environment.
